Provision for the needs of people with disabilities should form part of mainstream government policies in Wessex. Investment is needed in local authority Social Services to ensure that they remain more than just managing and co-ordinating agencies and retain the ability (and the budget) to answer the real needs of their clients.
A regionalist government in Wessex will:
- simplify the system of disability benefits.
Meanwhile, the Wessex Regionalists will:
- campaign for a large proportion of new housing to be built to recognised standards of accessibility.
